The latest adventure is with my husband. Who is never sick came down with the swine flu, then couldn't pass a breathing test for his physical at work.. So expecting a little complication from the flu we had further testing done. And our world will never be the same.....

The CT scan revealed severe lung damage from chemicals from his job. And we go tomorrow for a pet scan to see if any of the nodules are cancer.. This is separate from the chemical damage..

So please remember us in your prayers. Because we are in for a journey... But through it all I keep repeating the same verse...

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Thank you God for your faithfulness.. It was amazing. Not only did we hear wonderful speakers, but get this 3 concerts, Friday morning Sandi Patty, Friday evening Stephen Curtis Chapman and Saturday Mandisa. I came home exhausted but feeling blessed for being able to attend.

Now on the other hand I have been in bed pretty much since my knee I messed up going up and down the 100 steps into and out of the arena... The one bowl of rice in 24 hours was one of the hardest things I have ever done. At around midnight my stomach was growling so loud and so hard it woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep.
Then I realized how blessed I am that I have never known that kind of physical hunger. And I so pray for those who face this on a daily basis.. God bless them.

But it also got me to thinking about how spiritually starved I am at times and do not even recognize it. My prayer for this is that God let me feel the hunger pains that is caused by being spiritually starved.

Pray for me this week as tomorrow I go for a scope of my throat. I have what I pray is just scar tissue and they will either remove it or biopsy it tomorrow.

Have a blessed week.

World Hunger Day

This is from www.auny.blogspot.com you will have to go there to donate.

Friday, March 06, 2009
Rice Challenge

We are giving everyone a challenge for this coming Wednesday. For the last few months my voice has gotten really scratchy and it has been difficult for me to swallow. After a few tests I have a growth(they think it may be scar tissue from my last surgery) in my throat. So as it looks right now, unless God does a miracle I will have to have surgery. And that is not a good thing at all. I am a person that is allergic to all kinds of medicine, which has life threatening reactions. I have had 3 surgeries and ended up in ICU after all three.
So pray for me and I start on this adventure. Although Freddie may enjoy a few weeks with me unable to speak. HA HA.

I do have some exciting news in March I am going to the Women of Faith Conference in Bossier City, La. I can't wait to hear Steven Curtis Chapman and Sandy Patty in person. So this will be my get away weekend. Pray I stay healthy so I don't miss this..

Mom and Dad's 50th anniversary pictures!

View from their Hotel

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302833847665843906" style="DISPLAY: block; But we have had 3 funerals in my family since the 19th of November. So I haven't been doing any posting.

With all the grief there was also some joy. Mother and Dad celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. As soon as I get pictures loaded I will put them on so you can see.

In January I also celebrated my 29th wedding anniversary. Which was wonderful we went to a Oilman's team roping and yes it was fun... I also have pictures of that I will share when I get them from my camera to the laptop. It sounds so simple, but lately I haven't had the time to stop and do anything.

Also I am doing the scripture memory with Beth Moore's blog. And I will also share the weeks verse on here. This week my verse is:

Zechariah 14:9(NIV) - The Lord will be King over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and His name the only name.

Birthday

Today is my Birthday and it was a long day. When he clamps his icy fingers of fear on your heart, do you become afraid of what he’ll do to you if you take a stand for God? Don’t be afraid. Fear is an insult to God who said, I will be with thee. Fear will destroy you. Are you a worrywart? One lady said, “Don’t tell me it does no good to worry. The scripture she used was Psalm 16: 1-11 (5-6). Not only was it a blessing at the conference, but since I have been home God has given me a peace about life, that I have never had before. We are once again facing a hurricane in Louisiana, after Katrina and Rita your stomach drops when you hear the word hurricane. But I am not only calm I have a peace beyond my understanding. I have done the common sense stuff in getting ready. But I haven't gone above and beyond.
I would ask that you remember our state in your prayers since most families have not finished rebuilding since the last storms.
In Christ and with Peace about my Inheritance
Cassie

God is so good!!

Siesta Fiesta

Psalm 16:5-6 (New International Version)
5 LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

There are not words to describe this weekend.. I am blessed to be able to go see Beth Moore next weekend in San Antonio, Texas. But we have to make a fast trip, we will get there on Friday and have to leave as soon as it is over on Saturday. We had an invitation to do Cowboy Church on that Sunday Morning. So we have to cut our vacation short. And I was really disappointed because I was going to get to meet some of the ladies on the blog.
And most of the time at Cowboy Church people still ride their horses instead of stopping and listening to the sermon.
But God is so good as I read this I also remembered the scripture "how do they hear unless someone goes and tells them." So even when I don't think anyone is really listening only God knows who is... And that we are to just share the word and let God do the rest...
So pray for us as we make a flying trip to San Antonio and then back to Sulphur, La. Pray for our safety and my health...
Only 7 more days till Beth Moore and Travis Cottrell YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Confusion

Ephesians 4:26-27

26"In your anger do not sin"[d]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27and do not give the devil a foothold.

Everywhere I have been in the last couple of weeks, couples who have been together forever are on the verge of divorce. Everyone have a blessed weekend.
Cassie

Canton, Texas

Family Weekend

Matthew 4:19 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

This weekend is our family reunion and I am so excited. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study. That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: 'He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.' She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?' He smiled at her and answered, 'Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it.' If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Rest

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”- Romans 12:12

This has been such a busy week I am hoping to just rest today.
